Pfizer Logo Change: Is The New One Better?

Pfizer Ltd - the pharmaceutical company that we are all hearing about in the news nowadays, responsible for developing a vaccine for the Covid-19 Virus has gotten a design change but, does it serve it's purpose of a good design?

Firstly, let's look at the changes made to the old logo;

It looks very modern and professional. It has updated it's font to "Noto Sans" a font designed by Google which you can download here for free.

This is what Pfizer itself had to say for it's logo:

"Pfizer has become much more than a pharmaceutical company. Our new logo signals this  shift from commerce to science. We’ve unlocked the pill form to reveal the core of what we do: a double helix, spiraling upward.

The logo is constructed of two interlocking forms. Their unity reflects our passion and dedication to the science behind our innovations, and to the wellbeing of our patients." an extract from pfizer's official website.

I think Pfizer explains it well and through their explanation we can better understand the thought that went behind this logo was appropriate for this logo change.
